For many young people, inequality can feel like an obstacle too large for one person to change. Whether it involves access to education, leadership opportunities, or representation, countless communities continue to face barriers that limit their potential. Yet meaningful change often begins when one individual decides to use their voice to empower others.
Determined to help create a more equitable future, Kimberly Makarena Bonilla Gastulo founded Bridges of Equity, a youth-led initiative based in Chiclayo, Peru. Guided by the belief that everyone can be an agent of change, the organization works to inspire leadership, promote inclusion, and encourage young people to become active contributors within their communities.
What began as a passion for advocacy has grown into a platform that empowers youth through education, leadership, and meaningful dialogue. By encouraging young people to recognize their ability to create positive change, Bridges of Equity is helping build stronger, more connected communities where every voice has the opportunity to be heard.
Today, the initiative continues to inspire students and emerging leaders by promoting civic engagement, personal growth, and social responsibility. Through educational outreach and community involvement, Bridges of Equity encourages individuals to become confident leaders who are committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
Kimberly's leadership has been recognized through numerous achievements. She has served as a panelist, was honored as an Emerging Women Leader 2026, represented her community as a National Delegate in 2025, is an author, and serves as a Digital Ambassador for Data Science Perú. These accomplishments reflect her dedication to using education, technology, and advocacy to inspire meaningful impact.
As Bridges of Equity continues to grow, its mission remains centered on empowering the next generation of changemakers.
