Co-founded by Aria Sapkota, Healthy Hands, Healthy Hearts was created with one mission: to improve the health and well-being of underserved communities by providing access to essential hygiene and first-aid supplies. The organization believes that every individual deserves the basic resources needed to stay healthy, regardless of their circumstances, and Healthy Hands, Healthy Hearts aims to make these resources readily available… one kit at a time.
What started as an idea has grown into a community-driven initiative focused on turning compassion into action.
Through fundraising efforts and local partnerships, Healthy Hands, Healthy Hearts has raised more than $3,000, enabling the team to create and distribute personalized hygiene and first-aid kits to organizations serving underprivileged communities.
Rather than making a one-time contribution, the organization works directly with community partners, donating between 60 and 100 kits to each partner. These kits provide everyday essentials that many individuals often go without, helping restore dignity while addressing immediate health needs. The kits also contain handwritten cards; Aria stated that she and her team realized that these people often felt unseen and unheard, so in order to combat this, they decided to include these personalized cards to bring a little bit of light to people in the dark.
To date, Healthy Hands, Healthy Hearts has impacted the lives of more than 600 individuals, demonstrating how small acts of service can create meaningful change when multiplied across a community.
For Aria and the team, every kit represents more than supplies…it represents care, hope, and the belief that everyone deserves access to necessities.
